Property management companies and hotels are assessed by Sonoma County Tourism Sonoma County Tourism 2% for BIA fees. Currently individual homeowners are not, if their properties generating less than $350,000 per year. The BIA payment is an assessment, rather than a tax, that is placed on a guest’s lodging managed by a company, and charged back to each guest upon departure. The BIA assessment is 2% of the total revenue collected from rents charged.
